as a commercial designer, industry leader and educator, Stony has earned many awards and accolades, including Best Design Company in Taiwan, the Gold Dot Design Award, the Taiwan Design Centre Good Design Award, the National Design Award, and the inaugural national Commercial Creative Design Award (2004)
as the year’s most successful designer. Stony founded the Taiwan Graphic Design Association in 1994, serving as its first president, and has been a jury member at numerous international design competitions.
She has exhibited extensively, including the Salon International de L’affiche, Warsaw Poster Biennale, Berlin Asia-Pacific Festival, Macau Design Biennial, and the Wuxi International Industrial Design Festival. In 2006 and 2007, Stony was director of product line and brand planning for the Hakka Tung Blossom Festival, creating brand images for more than 300 local products. Her work has been featured in the Taiwan Designers Exhibition: Building Communities of Creators, Collective Design
at the Edges; Taiwan 100: Currency Design Exhibition; and the International Graphic Design Exhibition at the 2011 Taipei World Design Expo.
Also that year, Stony founded Promisewish, which produces distinctive gifts that draw directly from Taiwan’s cultural tradition. Stony has held professorial posts at the National Taiwan University of Arts and the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and in 2012 became the driving force behind a groundbreaking training program to develop cultural and creative brands.
