Soren Luckins

With a background in industrial and graphic design, Soren Luckins is Founding Director of the Melbourne multidisciplinary design practice Büro North, which has gained a reputation for innovative and meticulous work.

Soren is a pioneer and advocate of the multidisciplinary design model in Australia. After graduating from Swinburne University then studying in Germany, Soren worked for a multidisciplinary practice where he witnessed how creatively conducive it was to combine design disciplines.

He developed a passion for creative collaboration, which, upon his return to Melbourne, propelled him to establish Büro North, bringing together the disciplines of graphic design, industrial design and wayfinding within the one practice.

Under Soren’s direction, Büro North has built an impressive portfolio of clients and awards, locally and internationally. He leads a team of talented, lateral-thinking designers, overseeing every stage from client consultation and concept design to implementation and project delivery.

Primarily interested in the execution of innovative ideas, Soren’s approach to design reflects his passion for contemporary art. He is focused on the fusion of creativity and pragmatics, balancing the demands of both to ensure exceptional outcomes.

Soren holds a Bachelor of Design and Honours degree in Industrial Design from Swinburne University as well as a combined diploma from Germany’s Facchoschule Hildesheim University.

Büro North has won multiple awards, including the Premier’s Design Award, Melbourne Design Award, an AGDA Distinction Award, an MADC silver award, and Soren personally has received the prestigious ‘Young Guns’ award from the Advertising and Design Club of New York.
