Founded in 2002 with Creative Director Margaret Nolan, the company’s clients range from major wine companies, such as Treasury Wine Estates, Taylors Wines and De Bortoli Wines, to boutique brands such as House of Cards, Dexter and Yabby Lake Vineyard.
Rowena splits her time between managing the company and working on client projects on a daily basis.
Her career in design began after roles in publishing, marketing and advertising
in Sydney, London and Toronto.
She joined design firm Landor in 1995, where Penfolds was one of the first packaging projects she managed, and the relationship has been maintained since then.
It was while working as Client Services Director at Kirby+Nolan that Rowena met Margaret.
The two worked together on various product categories but wine company projects interested them most.
Since forming The Collective, their like-minded thinking and a healthy respect for each other’s abilities has resulted in a profitable and rewarding business, producing work that
is both effective and award winning.
Rowena has a BA in Communications from Charles Sturt University and management qualifications from AGSM University of NSW.
