Ray Black

One of the leaders of the advertising industry, Ray Black has been awarded an Order of Australia medal for his contribution to advertising, regarding the development of talent in the fields of writing and art direction.

A highly talented Art Director and Copywriter, Ray Black wrote and art directed many iconic and highly successful campaigns over the course of his advertising career, for clients such as State Rail, NSW Police and more.

Ray founded the AWARD School, which has been ongoing for more than 30 years and has also created the AWARD Copy School, helping create new generations of art directors and copywriters with professionalism and quality, bringing in other luminaries from the advertising industry to teach and contribute to the school.

Ray keeps the public interest at heart, and only works on projects that he believes in.

He was the Caxton Awards Chairman for sixteen years and in 2010, was inducted into the AWARD Hall of Fame.
