Mauro is a member of the Advisory Council of the Design Management Institute in Boston and the International Advisory Committee of the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. His teams at 3M have been recognised with several renowned awards, among them the Red Dot Design Award, the Good Design Award USA, the Good Design Award Japan, the Compasso d’Oro, the IF, the IDEA Award, and the PLUS Award.
SVP and Chief Design Officer at PepsiCo, previously Head of Global Design at 3M, Mauro Porcini managed 3M’s design strategies, leading teams based in USA, Italy, China, and Japan. He has been recognised by Fast Company as one of the ‘50 Most Influential Designers in America’ and selected as one of the ‘Masters of Design’ in 2011. In the same year he also received the ‘Award for Leadership and Innovation’ from the World HR Forum in Mumbai, India. Based in St Paul, Minneapolis, Mauro’s mission is to evolve 3M’s internal design culture, leveraging the company’s technology background to produce innovation and growth with a new experience-driven approach. He has co-authored the book ‘Vincere con le Idee – Innovazione Design Performance’ and contributed to ‘Minimo & Sostenibile’ and other publications in Europe and in the USA. Mauro has since joined PepsiCo as the company’s first ever Chief Design Officer.
