A distinguished graphic designer and educator, Martin Yang is Creative Director of HWAT’S graphic design studio, current President of the Taiwan Graphic Design Association and leader of the Taiwan Design Alliance, an industry advocacy body dedicated to the promotion of Taiwanese design in global contexts. He has also contributed to the advancement of the design industry as executive member of the 2011 World Design Expo (Visual Development); programming committee member of the 2011 IDA Congress; program director of the 2010 Creative Culture and Commercial Packaging Training for Taiwan Aborigines; and director of ‘Messages to the World’, the 2010 International Poster Exhibition, Taipei.

He exhibited at the 2010 Taiwan Design Expo and featured in the Taiwan Designers Exhibition: Building Communities of Creators, Collective Design at the Edges; Taiwan 100: Currency Design Exhibition; and the International Graphic Design Exhibition at the 2011 Taipei World Design Expo. Among his numerous awards are the prestigious Taiwan Golden Print Awards and the Good Design Award (Product Branding) from the Taiwan Design Centre. Martin has served as a convener, judge and jury member for many design competitions and lectures at the National Taiwan University of Science & Technology and the National Taipei University of Technology.
