Wang joined BenQ Group in 2002. He established BenQ’s Lifestyle Design Center and introduced the design philosophy “meeting of the opposites”, which is a fusion of Eastern and Western design concepts. In 2007, he set up the Creative Design Center for Qisda, helping the ODM company gain strong competitive advantage with excellent design capability.
Manfred Wang graduated as German State Diplom-Designer (master degree of Industrial Design) from Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart (The State Academy of Art and Design Stuttgart, Germany) in 1994. After returning to Taiwan, Wang worked as leader of Conceptual Product Design of Computer & Communications Research Laboratories in Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute before joining Acer Group.
In his Acer years in late 1990s, Wang served as design director for Acer’s Computer & Consumer Products Business Unit. He eventually assumed the position of design director of Acer Brand Operation, responsible for all the product design and branding strategy.
