Kent Sneddon

As Design Director of the global bathroom products group Methven, Kent Sneddon
(7 December 1971 – 18 May 2014) played a key role in driving the product concepts and brand-building initiatives of this progressive design-led company.

After graduating from Wellington School of Design in 1994, Kent worked with noted designer Peter Haythornthwaite on various projects ranging from packaging and signage to electronic products and tools.

He then moved to Fisher & Paykel and went on to lead the development of a global strategy for
a new generation of appliances and concepts for the company.

Since joining Methven in 2006, Kent built the design team that has developed many innovative technologies, shower products and tapware collections, along with future concepts yet to enter the market.

During his time at Methven, the design team has won many prestigious awards including Red Dot Design Awards (Germany), German Design Council Awards, Good Design Awards (USA), a Good Design Green Award (USA), UK Designer Awards, Australian International Design Awards and NZ Best Design Awards.

A member of the Designers Institute of New Zealand, Kent was a member of the advisory board of Unitec Institute of Technology and the AUT School of Art and Design and has judged numerous design competitions.
