Ken Carbone

The co-founder and Chief Creative Director of the Carbone Smolan Agency, Ken Carbone is among America’s most respected graphic designers.

Under his design ethos of ‘unify, simplify, amplify’, Ken has created design programs
for clients such as Morgan Stanley, Christie’s, Tiffany & Co, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Canon USA and institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Natural History Museum of Los Angeles and Louvre Museum.

Ken is the author of ‘The Virtuoso: Face to Face with 40 Extraordinary Talents’, celebrating human achievement in all walks of life, and co-author of ‘Dialog: What Makes a Great Design Partnership’, commemorating his 35-year collaboration with business partner Leslie Smolan. He is also an accomplished guitarist.

A board member of AGI New York, Ken frequently speaks to audiences about the value of strategic design and communications in the corporate, consumer and cultural sectors. He is professor at the School of Visual Arts, New York, and a featured blogger for Fast Company, Co.Design and Huffington Post.

Ken’s work has been recognised by the AIGA, Print, Graphis, Idea, Communication Arts, ID, the New York Art Directors Club, and he’s a recipient of the Visionaries! Award from the Museum of Arts & Design.
