Anthony Battaglia

Founder and Creative Director of Sydney-based studio BoxTM, Anthony Battaglia is a prolific award-winner with a rare ability to consistently and coherently develop meaningful design in a wide range of media, including film, television, digital platforms, installations and print.

After graduating with Honours in Graphic Design and doing a short stint in advertising, in 1988 Anthony joined the graphics department at ABC TV and was responsible for the graphics on many notable programs. In 1994, he left to set up BoxTM and the projects flowed in, including graphics for ‘Monday Night Football’ and film titles for ‘The Well’, ‘A Wreck A Tangle’ and ‘Dirty Deeds’.

By 1998, Anthony had also begun designing and developing interactive media, such as a ground-breaking website for the GMD Group and South East Asia’s first interactive television apps for Austar and the Weather Channel. Then a foray into book design led to Anthony scooping the pool at the 2001 Australian Publishers Association Book Design Awards. And the good work has continued. With a well-deserved reputation as a thoughtful and versatile designer, Anthony has been profiled in numerous magazines and honoured with awards from prestigious design bodies including The New York Festival, D&AD, AWARD and AGDA.
