Biography

Paul is the Course Director of Bachelor of Design Technology within the School of Engineering at Deakin University. He has undergraduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Commerce and a PhD in Engineering. He has worked for General Motors, Ford and Worley Parsons as well as a consultant, before joining Deakin in an academic role. Since being at Deakin he has developed research partnerships with Quiksilver and Baum Cycles in the sport technology area as well as being a part of various technology and design based start-ups including a new project in the nano-fibre space with HeiQ Australia (Swiss-Australian Company). He currently sits on the board of eth Australian Sports Technology Network. One of his research areas is the intersection of technology, design and people and ultimately how we “design better products”.
