Biography
Dr Martin Tomitsch is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning at the University of Sydney and an interaction design researcher at the Sydney Design Lab. He received a PhD in informatics from the Vienna University of Technology, Austria, and worked briefly as user interface designer before entering academia. At the University of Sydney he is the Director of the Design Computing program, an undergraduate course that prepares students for a career in interaction design. He is visiting lecturer at the Vienna University of Technology’s Research Group for Industrial Software (INSO), NSW state chair for the Computer-Human Interaction Special Interest Group (CHISIG) of the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society of Australia (HFESA), and founding member of the Media Architecture Institute. His research has been published in two books – on media facades and on digital interfaces for public transport environments – and over 50 articles in journals and academic conferences.
