Biography
Professor Mads Gaardboe joined UniSA in 2004 as Head of the Louis Laybourne Smith School of Architecture and Design. Prior to this position he was Professor and Head of Department of Architecture, and Associate Director of Liverpool School of Art at John Moore’s University in the U.K. Professor Gaardboe was also a Subject Specialist with the British Quality Assessment Agency and External Examiner at the University of Central England, Birmingham, and Leeds Metropolitan University. As a practicing architect he has worked in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Australia, with practices in Canberra and London. His research has focussed on urban design related to the history of new towns and campus design. The design and architecture of tourist developments and hotels is a second area of focus.
