Biography
Dr Jochen Schweitzer teaches Strategy and Innovation at the Business School of the University of Technology, Sydney. He is Research Stream Leader for at the Center for Management and Organisation Studies and Co-Founder of U.lab, a multidisciplinary innovation hub. Previously he has worked as a Teacher of Design Thinking at the Hasso Plattner Institute – School of Design Thinking at Potsdam University, as well as Management Consultant, Production-Planning Engineer and Cultural Program Coordinator.
Jochen has professional experience in business planning, organizational transformation, change management and innovation management. His work focuses on issues of strategic management, collaboration, entrepreneurship and innovation with a special interest in design thinking, urban planning and open innovation. This work has been published in academic journals and books and has also been presented and recognised at a number of international conferences. In 2008 Jochen won the Strategic Management Societies’ Best PhD Paper Award and an Honorable Mention as Best Conference paper, and in 2009 he was awarded an Honorable Mention as finalist for the Academy of Management Dissertation Award of the Business Policy and Strategy Division.
